Meetings = HUGE savings on time and travel costs!
 |
With all the technological advances we’ve seen, we still haven’t
been able to accomplish the StarTrek favorite “Beam me up
Scotty”.
Just think of
the time and money we could save if we could be beamed from one
appointment to another. Present a new product in Chicago at 9
and close a deal in LA at 10.
Well thanks to
web conferencing, that exact scenario can happen, and is every
day. |
Many of you have heard of or used Webex or Microsoft Live Meeting.
If you haven’t already made web conferencing part of how you do
business, you should make it a New Years resolution you keep in 2007.
What service is best for you? Well, at Tech.Sell, we have been using GoToMeeting.com for about 18 months, and we love it!
For about $40 per month, we can host meetings for a presenter and up to
10 participants.
Everything is web based. The software makes it easy to schedule a
meeting and send an Outlook invitation to all attendees. Each attendee
receives a link to the meeting. They click the link and bingo they are
in the meeting, from any PC in the world. GoToMeeting also provides a
conference call dial in number for every meeting, if desired. Each
participant who dials in is charged for the conference call.
Once in the meeting, the presenter can show their computer screen to all
the attendees. So you can do a PowerPoint presentation, review a
proposal, walk though a blueprint, in short anything on your computer
can be shared with anyone you invite to the meeting.
What if you want to see what’s on their screen? No problem, just
click on their name and make them the presenter! They can even give you
control of their mouse and keyboard, which opens up a whole new world of
possibilities.
We know it’s inexpensive and easy; let’s think about the possibilities and
benefits.
-
Make presentations to people in
different parts of the country or world at the same time without
anybody having to leave their desk.
-
Walk through designs or plans with
clients or members of your team make changes in the meeting that all
can contribute to and agree on.
-
Coach new employees via long
distance.
-
CPA logging in to
a clients PC to review QuickBooks without leaving the office.
-
Do technical support for remote
users. (We use GoToMeeting for all out remote support and customers
love the instant response to questions or problems.)
